All of these delicious strawberry desserts are featured in Southern Living. They were such an inspiration to me for summer fun that I loaded up my kiddos this morning and headed straight to our local Strawberry patch! We had so much fun at Pappy's picking our luscious strawberries, and it felt so good to know that we were picking them fresh! Before we could even unload from the van, the kids had already declared that we had to make Strawberry shortcake. The only thing I didn't have was whipped cream, so for the very first time in my 37 years of living, I made it homemade..all thanks to my mom, who thankfully answered the phone for my spur of the moment baking dilemma.

We sat on our screened in porch and devoured these beauties in less than 7 minutes! We have big plans to use all 8 lbs. of our strawberries this weekend. We have friends coming over tomorrow night and family coming in on Friday for the weekend, so there will be great excuses to try out some of those Southern Living desserts featured above! I'll be sure to take pictures!!

Oh! I can't wait to pick them up here! We had so much fun picking strawberries last year, and I froze a bunch for the winter. The kids loved having them during the cold season when we couldn't get fresh ones here. They are so much better than store bought ones!

Those look DELICIOUS! I'm cracking up because I made homemade whipped cream for the first time 2 weeks ago (and I'm 37 too, lol)!! It's divine!!!

I'm drooling. Can you believe, me, a girl from Texas, has never picked anything from a tree, a shrub, or from the ground. I am so jealous! I get everything from the grocery store or a farmer's market.
