Before and Afters, Part two.

Before and Afters, Part one can be found here.

Our foyer.  Before.

Have you ever seen anything like this?
{apologies for anyone who lived here and loved it}
That was a tile floor that some pour soul had to hammer out.
Cedar boards with mirrors.
enough said.

Our foyer.  After

The beveled glass in the windows, the cedar planks with slanted mirrors and the tile floor all got replaced.

The walls got painted a color that looked great on the swatch but waytooyellow in reality.
So, after living with the color for two years, we finally re-painted a few weeks ago.
{We, as in my husband, painted a few weeks ago}
It's a light and airy color from Benjamin Moore. {Monroe Bisque HC 26}

Our living room.  Before.

more cedar planks on the walls.
carpet that was extremely lived on.
red walls.  I love red, but these had to go.  I  prefer a brownish red...a little more earthy.

Our living room. After.

I thought I'd give you a few different angles of the room.
There was a wall straight in front of the foyer, and you couldn't see into the dining room.
We had the wall taken out in the renovation process, and I'm so glad we did!
It allows the room to be one big open space, and I don't mind it at all.
It doesn't look like there would be enough walking space between the dining room chairs and the sofa,
but I promise there is.

Things on the to-do list....
New lamps on the red chest ...I am completely over the ones on there.
Pillows , Pillows, Pillows.  I vow to buy more pillows this year and pray my children don't ruin them.
A weathered frame around the cow painting...
A nice, big, fabulous floor lamp where the small table is beside the sofa. {see it in the first picture...}

Our Dining Room.  Before.

This is the only angle that I have of the dining room before.  It's more like a shot of the living room, but you can see where the dining room is.  You can't really see the wall in front of the foyer, but you can see how much darker it is in the room.

Our dining room.  After.

I should have done these before and after posts way before now.
They've helped me to appreciate this house and the transformation that has taken place!

It also helps to see places that need attention.
{Like those windows in the living room}.
I can't figure out what I want to do, so I haven't done anything in two years.
When I see pictures of the room, I realize that they need something...so I'll set my mind to making it happen!

Next up in this little before and after series....our kitchen.

  19. Absolutely GORGEOUS!!! And thank you for sharing the paint color! We too picked out a color that looked like big bird when it was on the walls. I was SO disappointed!! Paint colors are hard to choose!
    Everything looks fantastic! :)

  21. What an amazing couple you two are!! Love what you've done. You shame this Army wife:). I also just noticed the little image of the three shelves over on the side bar ... is this new? Where is it located in your house? I really am impressed at how "together" everything is. After 14+years, and 9 moves, I'm still not able to put together a "complete" package.Ijustdon'thavethatknack.Period. Big Army HOOAH to you:)!!Thanks for sharing all of this. Fun stuff.
