So a long while ago, Edie over at Life in Grace, which is on my short list of favorite blogs,
showed us all her love for Peacock Blue in her post found here.
I swore right then and there that somehow, someday I'd find a way to get that color in my house.
This past week, we spruced up our daughter's room and found ways to add this blessed color to her room.
We made her a new/old headboard, a new/old corkboard, and we fancied up her lamps a little.
My husband came home a couple of weeks ago with a ton of old louver doors that he found for free.
He cut the doors in half, painted/distressed them and hinged them together before attaching them to the wall.
I found a huge old empty frame at a garage sale and paid $7 for it.
My husband painted & distressed it that perfect creamy white.
He cut a piece of plywood and fit it into the frame and then we glued the cork down on it.
We had the plywood and the cork was from Joann's Fabric store for $10.
I bought the lamps about a month ago at Old Time Pottery for $10 each.
While I was at Joann's I picked up some large buttons and hot glued them to the lamp shades.
I think I spent about $3 on the buttons.
The only other thing that we need to do is pick up some white panels for her windows.
I plan to add a Peacock blue pom-pom trim from Joann's to the inside edge of the panels.
I'll post pics when I complete that project....
I love her room..the colors make me so happy that I find myself taking phone calls back there
or reading while laying on her big, comfy, white, fluffy bed.
Most of the accessories in the room either came from Target, TJ Maxx or garage sales.
I love when a plan comes together on the cheap!!
