I'm pretty {okay...absolutely} certain that my front porch won't ever see beautiful Fall foliage like this.
Hi. My name is Tara, and I live in Florida.
I have to buy this "look" by the bag full at one of those big craft stores that we all love.

Then, I have to come home and throw them around on the porch like the wind did it.
If you are lucky enough to have beautiful leaves, promise me you'll give yourself this look on your front porch.
And, if you love me at all, please supply me with pictures.
It's usually about this time every year that I start to get a little sad that we live in the Sunshine State.
I'm choosing today to remember that we may not ever see true Fall weather here,
but it won't be long before parts of the country start having to work hard to shovel cars out of the snow.
Those are the days and weeks and months that I'm able to sip coffee on my back porch to perfect weather.
Wherever we are planted...
whether it's California or Minnesota or New York or Florida...
We can bloom and see the gift in it....
even if we only have two kinds of weather...hot and chilly...to enjoy and no beautiful Fall foliage.

I will seriously mail you some leaves if you would like. I love fall. The beautiful trees just take your breathe away. YOu do get alot more sunshine.
ReplyDeleteHi Tara, If you want to e.mail me your address, I would love to mail you some beautiful Washington State leaves. I use to do this all the time for my mom, when she was living in the Philippines. She was the envy of all her friends :-).
ReplyDeleteI also adore FALL.
Fondly,
Glenda
I'll be thinking of you drinking coffee on your back porch this winter.
ReplyDeleteI too LOVE fall, and I'm grateful that I get to see the fall colors here in northern California. But that Florida sunshine would be so nice on those foggy winter days.
ReplyDeleteFall in Ohio is the most beautiful time of the year. I would be more than happy to mail you a big bunch of our colorful leaves!
ReplyDeleteHere in North Carolina our leaves are just starting to turn. I too will send you some lovely ones if you like! We gather them for craft projects.
ReplyDeletePS Your porch is lovely and yours won't shrivel up to an ugly brown : )
ReplyDeleteI will definitely bring this post up when the wind is whipping 100 mph and it's 40 below. The lack of leaves would be the least of my worries. Can I come sit on your "chilly" porch in January:)??
ReplyDeleteI'd be more than happy to send you a box of leaves from my yard in a few weeks. I love Fall as well. But come Janurary will you open your home as a B&B :) for me to escape the really cold weather~~
ReplyDeletexo,
LuLu
I love the fall too!!! I promise to post pictures if you follow me!!!
ReplyDeleteI think you may have mentioned that you like fall once or twice! But I would like to try your weather. it's already getting chilly here. I wore a sweater and boots today. You would love it! :) Now you can wish for my weather since I wished for yours all summer long!
ReplyDeleteI love your picture, it totally made me smile and say right out loud, " Oh Tarah...I totally love you...hehe" You are speaking my language sister. I spent my day...grey outside, decorating my house for fall. I now have a beautiful fall wreath on my front door, my table has a lovely fall center piece, and the colors of fall are sprinkled around my house! I am no where near done, but it was a fun and fulfilling day! Can't wait to see your decorated fall house in Florida! : )
ReplyDeleteI ADORE Autumn (sorry - Fall - I'm in England!). the colours are spectacular, and as long as it isn't raining - I love the crisp days too. Mind you, there will come a day when 'crisp and fresh' just turns into plain old 'cold and wet'- and while I'm clearing out those sludgy leaves, I'll be dreaming of coffee on my porch too! xx
ReplyDeleteHi Tara - I am an Ohioan temporarliy (for the past 13 years) living in Naples, Florida. Every year around this time I dream of moving back to Ohio for those crisp fall days and chilly nights! :) But alas the Sunshine State is home for now so I agree, BLOOM WHERE YOU'RE PLANTED! Maybe we can swap some seashells and starfish for the fall leaves from our northern friends!
ReplyDeleteMany Blessings,
Northern Girl in Naples
Dear Tara ... your friendship that transcends borders give me full of tenderness and hope ...
ReplyDeleteP / D: when you have a time, going by my blog that there is something in it for you ... kisses
Thank you for the reminder. You made me think this same thing the other day when you were talking about being happy in the house you live in even though you can't make major changes. I think I get far to caught up in what project I need to next and forget to enjoy where I am today. God is working to change my heart in this area, thank you for being part of His way to reach my heart in this area. You are a blessing

I love fall too, and though I will indeed probably see more color in my leaves this fall than you will....when I am singing the blues about how freezing I am in February, you can talk to me about how much you love living in Florida ;)!
ReplyDeleteI almost wish it was fall...almost...but not quite. I still want summer and would love some Florida weather right now :)
ReplyDeleteIt is my favorite season too! I love everything about it. Especially the decorating with warm colors.
ReplyDeleteTara, as you know I'm your neighbor. I agreed with every. single. word! I love fall too-it's my favorite season also but it is different living in such a hot climate. Everyone here thinks I'm crazy when we hit about 65-70 degrees in November or so. I get so excited to go for walks, it's like I'll never get to go for a walk again! LOL.
ReplyDeleteWhen I visited my dad last October in Northern Cali I was sure to take lots of photos-it was the perfect time of year to go. I would love to go back this year but he's visiting me instead. :)
