No Turning Back

I gave it up.
I wrote here that it was one of the forty things I was doing before I turned 40.
So, I did it.
I gave it up.
There's no turning back, right?
I wanna turn back so bad.
But, I won't.
I won't turn back.

and now, for some strange reason, the song Living on a Prayer is running through my mind.
It could have something to do with needing extra help giving up this guilty pleasure.
Speaking of Bon Jovi, my hair looked freakishly like his in 1989.
I'll have to muster up the courage to show you sometime.

  1. I will show you my big hair if you show me yours. Good luck on staying free of the evil/wondeful liquid. I have given it up many time and then get sucked back in. Maybe I will try again soon. You are inspiring me to do this 40 before 40 thing, I love a list and even more I love marking things off of a list. Hope you have a great weekend.

  4. Good Luck! I give up diet coke every year for Lent and then when Lent is over, I start the addiction all over again. Ughhh! I can only imagine that this is what an addict feels when he or she has to give up a drug. It is so hard....

  8. Hey,
Good for you! I know from personal experience that giving up soda is really hard. Do you know what I found that helped. Bubble water, like La Croix... or San Pellegrino. Both don't have the sugar or artificial sweetner...but you get your bubble fix. Just a suggestion. Good luck!

  17. I used to drink so much Diet Coke! I gave it up about three years ago. I don't crave it anymore because I've replaced my addiction with seltzer (soda water). I just need the bubbles. Good luck!
