Eight Ornaments Later...

The whole group with the ornaments that we each brought. Tracey is holding my fat snowman that I made!

Me and Ashley, our hostess!
Tracey and Ashley

We had so much fun at the Christmas Ornament Exchange Party on Monday night.
Ashley was the hostess with the mostess.
If you like crafting and you like an excuse to get together with your friends,
then this is the party to throw during the Christmas season!

We each brought an appetizer or a dessert and basically, ate and laughed til we couldn't anymore.
When it came time to exchange our ornaments, we celebrated what each of us hand-crafted.
How fun to leave with a basketful of homemade ornaments!
Of course, the ornaments and the food were wonderful, but the fellowship was so much sweeter.
It was so encouraging and inspiring to hear about careers and families and hobbies.
Each of the women extended themselves and their lives to one another.
There just isn't anything more beautiful in this world.

This is something that I'm thoroughly enjoying about getting just a little older.
There seems to be less competition, more celebrating, less comparing, more appreciating the differences.

Great fun..Great party!

I know the Snowman ornament that I made is small in the pictures,
but I thought I'd give you the "how to" on it.

What you'll need:
clear, glass ornaments from a craft store
a container of SnowTex
a pack of black buttons for the eyes and mouth
a sheet of orange felt for the nose
cute ribbon for your bows on top

What you'll do:
cover the whole ornament in the SnowTex and let dry over night
hot glue the eyes and the mouth on
{I made the mouth kind of to one side instead of making a traditional smiley face}
cut long, skinny triangles out of the felt and hot glue them for the nose

Easy, Cheap and really Cute.
