My Camera, A big Yellow Bow & Some Sunshine for You.

because I haven't had time to do another post since I told you about my bloggy birthday and the give away.
I took this picture last week of my daughter when she was swinging in the backyard.
She LOVES her new headband that I picked up on clearance at Target.
I love that place.
I never make time to edit my photos before I put them in a post.
I try my best to use my fancy NIKON camera and just take a great photo in already great lighting.
It works sometimes and it doesn't work other times.
It's all I can do to school my kids, plan my meals, clean my house, spend quality time with my husband, do my laundry, throw up a blog post, and spend time with God so I can do most of this with a halfway decent attitude that is focused on others and not always myself.
Whew~  Okay, I took a deep breath.
Can you tell I'm talking really fast in my head without taking a breath and in a high pitched tone?
Yeah. These kind of weeks kill me.
Okay.....So I took time and played around with editing this photo
...that only took a hundred years to show you, right?
I get wordy when I'm too busy or have too much on my plate.
We have photoshop, but don't think for a second that I know one thing about how to use it.
It's one of the things on my list that I'm determined to learn.
But, in the meantime, I used picnik to edit this picture!

I think it looks better edited.
If you're a professional, then please know that I know I am not. :)
I know it could be better, but seriously, it looks better edited, right?
And, I know she's mine, but isn't she adorable?

She loves her bright yellow headband.
She has literally picked out her outfits around that accessory.
And, while we're at it, I just got up from the computer to help her get dressed.
After she put on her outfit and added a cute turquoise hairbow, which she called turToise, she said,
"Now, I just need my rings and my bracelets and my necklace."

I'm telling you, after two boys who are total boys, this girl melts my heart with her love for accessories.

Okay, now that I've done an entire post on a picture of my daughter, I'm just gonna leave you with
some pictures that make me smile.  I hope they make you smile, too.
If you're area is covered in snow, then I hope these pictures bring sunshine to your soul today!
Praying safety for all of you and hoping you are warm and full of joy this morning.

  10. Your daughter is just a doll Tara. My youngest wears flowery stuff in her hair all the time. She would LOVE that headband. I feel the same way about life being crazy busy too. I'm about spread too thin. It's easy to get there isn't it?? Thanks for the eye candy.

  11. I love the picture of your daughter...she is so beautiful. I want to ask I just started playing around with picnik and I wondered do you have the upgrade to edit this picture? If you do do you recommend it and how did you edit this picture? So many questions. :) You are just such a talented gal! Thank you!!!

  12. Your post and those pics (especially the one of your little beauty) were like a ray of sunshine. Hang in there. It's almost Friday.

PS. NEVER edit my pics. I'd never get a post out if I did!! Drives my photographer Dad a bit crazy. He's always telling me my indoor shots make everyone look blue. Not sad, but the color blue!! :)

  13. i *love* the yellow headband!! so sweet!! :) and i hear you on the whole owning photoshop, but not really knowing how to use it. i would suggest googling things you want to do. i had to learn adobe indesign for work, and even though i took a 4-credit college course JUST on indesign, there are still things i want to be able to do, or don't understand. so i google it... and there are A TON of open source videos or blogs out there that will help you find nifty things you can do... or at least that was my experience. you've probably already thought of this, but i know it cuts out a lot of time for me (i tend to just try to play around and hope that i'll get lucky... not so much.)

  20. tara. the next thing i need to learn is photoshop. it overwhelms me. I don't really edit either. it takes to much time. I just throw them into a collage. that's my big effort. But my friend is going to teach me photoshop so maybe that will change.

  26. Yeah, Picnik is really great when you don't own/know how to use Photoshop. The edited one really does look good! The yellow is so much brighter!

  27. I don't have photoshop because it's difficult from what I hear and I don't have time to learn one more electronic/techy thing right now. So I use Picnik and I've been happy with it.

Hop on over and link up for Sophia's 4th birthday {adoption linky part}, I'd love it if you'd help spread the message/miracle of adoption. Have a fabulous weekend!
