Soul Mates.

Becky from farmgirlpaints is here today to tell us how she met her man!


She took time to answer all of the questions that I ever thought to ask about their relationship.
This is going to sound really crazy, but I knew I had to know more about their story
when she did a post with this picture.

A couple that can have fun and laugh together can stay together, and they definitely seem to
love having fun together!!
They have such a sweet history together,
and I know you'll enjoy getting to know more of Becky's beautiful heart.

How did you and your honey meet?
We were in high school.  We both attended the same church youth group.  I remember the first time I saw him.  I was sitting with my mom and dad toward the back of the church.  He was visiting with his family.  We were singing a worship song and he had his hands lifted in praise.  It really caught my attention.  His sister was sitting by him.  She's really cute.  I remember wondering if that was his girlfriend:)

Were you friends first or was it love at absolute first sight?
He used to tease me all the time or IGNORE me, which was worse.  I remember wanting to smack him!  So no it wasn't love at first sight.  It was interest at first sight though;)

When did you know he was the one?
I had been in a really ugly relationship prior and was just bruised and broken from it, but I still wanted to find someone to love.  I wrote a letter to God with everything I wanted in a future husband...knowing full well there was no one in my life that could possible be everything on my list.  I prayed over it every night and slept with it under my pillow.  One night I had a dream about him and the next day I woke up and it was like a veil had been lifted and I saw him for the first time.  He was my list and I never knew it.  He's my gift from God.

How long have you been married?
It will be 19 years in August.



What kind of things did you do together when you first got married and didn't have kiddos?
We were married 7 years before we started our family.  Since we got married so young we really didn't have any money, so our fun was playing darts in our living room...HA!  He always loved to work out, so we had a gym membership and that was something we always did together.  He would also get to go to company seminars in fun places and I tagged along.  Free vacation:)

What's your favorite date night option now that you have kids?
We still love to just go out to eat and catch a movie. Our girls are finally at the age we can actually leave them for a couple of hours.  So that's a new adjustment.  One we've only taken advantage of twice, but for Christmas I got him tickets to a hockey game and we have a big date coming up:)

What is the thing that you love most about your marriage?
He is the lover of my soul.  He knows every little thing...flaws and all and still loves me.  He's my best friend.  He's got my back.  He's my number one fan.  He's the one person who I can completely be myself with, and that to me is the biggest gift in the whole world.  It's what marriage should be.

About your husband?
He is the perfect fit for me.  He's all about the details...I'm not.  He works hard for us.  He loves our girls with all this heart.  He loves the Lord and strives to be the spiritual head of the home.  He cracks me up.  We view the world in the same way.  So fun to be able to see things eye to eye.  He's romantic and always makes a big deal about spoiling me for Christmas, Valentine's, our Anniversary etc...  And this is probably my favorite thing...he's sentimental to the extreme.  I love that he loves with everything in him.  His past, present and future are always very close to the surface.  He doesn't just coast through life never appreciating it.  He holds things close and knows that life is short.  He's my man and I don't know what I would do without him.  Oh and added bonus...he's pretty darn HOT too!
