Remember when I told you that we were working on a couple of projects?
We cleaned out our closets last week, and we painted the bathroom and kitchen cabinets in our rental.
Here are a few shots of the kitchen....
The walls were bright yellow, and we went with a very neutral benjamin moore color.
*manchester tan*
The cabinets were awful.
The fronts of them were oak, and the rest of them were FAKE WOOD.
I know that we'll be in this house for at least two years, so we asked the owners if we could paint them.
Thankfully, they said we could!
We went with a creamy white because this room needed some light!!!
We used some bronze spray paint on all of the hardware, so it's still dated, but it looks better.
Over all, I'm glad we did it...it'll make these next two years that we're in this house pass by sweeter.

Actually it looks so much better than what I was picturing from your description, really not bad at all!! It looks cozy and makes me want some of that coffee!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, isn't it amazing what a fresh coat of paint will do?! I painted our cabinets a cream color, very similar to yours; in fact they look almost identical! I also love your wall color, I am thinking of changing mine to more of a "tan" color.

Whoo Hoo! they turned out beautiful. I can only imagine the work involved. Thank you so much for sharing. I hope twenty twelve is everything you wish for and more. I will follow on my way out so I can revisit. I hope you can find the time to come visit me and do the same. I look forward to engaging throughout the year. Cheers SpecialK XoXo

ReplyDeleteGood for you. I'm in a rental too and dying to do something like that. We'll be here at least until June of 2013, so...mabye I should do some painting. I would LOVE to see my cabinets painted, but I'm probably too lazy to tackle the cabinets. :) I'll have to think it over, yours look so good.
