Oh, today was a great day.
I wonder if my friend Angie has any idea what a blessing her family and her home is to my crew?
We went over for lunch today and ended up staying until 5:00pm.
Thank God I had put dinner in the crock pot!!
They built their dream home on a large plot of land, and it is a total refuge.
She had the windows open, and we sat and enjoyed conversation on her comfy sofas.
The only noises we heard were our children laughing hysterically while they played outside.
We grilled hotdogs on their ginormous deck and enjoyed them with all the fixins'.
She made homemade m&m cookies that the kids devoured.
There were fresh flowers on her amazing island.
It was glorious.
I grew up on land so playing in the creek and among the animals was an everyday occurrence for me.
It does my heart soooo good to see & hear my kids doing the same.
She has triplets {two boys & a girl} who are almost twelve and another little girl who is eight.
I didn't get her girls in the shots because I didn't have my camera out for very long.
But, they are the sweetest most generous and fun loving girls.
They had tea parties and held dance recitals for us and ended the day soaking wet from the water hose.
I'm telling you...it was a gooooood day.
I know these pictures I took won't win me any awards.
I'm a people over task kind of girl, so the people won out. :)
Anyway, their home is a real beauty.
It's what all of us bloggers out there swoon over.
Hardwood floors throughout.
White paneled walls throughout.
Wood ceilings to match their floors.
The perfect shade of blue kitchen cabinets.
A farm table that begs you to sit for a spell and enjoy the food and company.
Two fireplaces on the same wall in the same room....todiefor amazing.
Windows that welcome all the sunlight the skies have to offer.
A front porch the length of the house.
And land that your legs will run on for so long and so hard that they feel like they might just fall off.
{thankful for}
320. friends.
321. friends who open their home and share themselves.
322. the laughter of my kids with their friends.
323. the true worship that my heart felt today listening to the sounds of our kids playing hard.
324. the flowers that I saw out of every single window in her house.
325. a whole day without hearing a single kid say they were bored.
Lord, Bless our friends..Bless their home..Bless their family...
Thank you for this new friendship.
Thank you for their faith that is lived out loud without very many words needed.
Thank you for the sweet worship that I experienced just by being in their presence.
Let our home be a blessing to others.
Let our family exude your joy and peace to those we encounter.
Amen.

There is not much I enjoy more than spending the day at a friends home. You sound refreshed.
ReplyDeleteI just adore your friend's dream home. It is so comfy, friendly, and an eclectic haven of happiness.
ReplyDeleteMaybe, just maybe someone will say this about my home one day! So glad you had a refreshing afternoon!
ReplyDeletewhat a perfect dream day!! Love her home! it's lovely and cozy and peaceful. those are the best kind of days! especially when dinner is already taken care of in the crock pot!
ReplyDeletesuch a sweet reminder of worship being in everything-did my heart good!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love these days...I know the kind! I often pray that this is what our home is to all who enter. You summed it up beautifully and I can hear your happiness! {Her home is lovely! I love that lamp in her kitchen! I have always wanted one and have long been on the lookout for one small enough!}
ReplyDeleteIt looks so wonderful there...like it's a place a person could really live and enjoy life. It sounds like you had a great day :)
ReplyDeletei love days like this. and i love your friend's house!! how amazing! i'd be hanging out on her gorgeous farm too!
ReplyDeleteOh my heavens. I feel more relaxed just LOOKING at her house. I can't imagine actually having the privelege of hanging out there all day. I have been having a strong urge to open our house up more to friends and family. We aren't there very often and when we are, it seems we are doing, doing, doing and make a big gigantic mess and then it's time for us to go again. So our house tends to stay in disarray, detering me from inviting people over. I'm thinking this needs to change. Thanks for the extra boost. It is amazing how God can use something as simple as a house to minister to others.
ReplyDeleteI just stumbled across your blog and am hooked! This home of your friend has totally convinced me to tin our roof when we need to re-roof our home. Similar style of house as mine. Sooo excited, can't wait! (I'm a home improvement junkie!) And also can't wait to see your finished new home!
ReplyDeleteI love you love you love you!! Also my reaction to this homey post: (in my best whiney voice) "I wanna come too....." LOL But I really do! I grew up in an area of Montana that felt a lot like that and had an awesome childhood with an old house and kitchen and garden and animals and company ALL the time who would stay and stay. LOL
ReplyDeleteLoving the heart vibe of her home..
ReplyDeleteThe children look like they are having a blast and
You my friend sound so full right now.
God is so good!
Thank you for your prayers too
