Life has happened.
It's been a busy couple of weeks since we signed a contract on our new home.
We've been picking exterior colors and interior colors and faucets and tile and wood floor stain and countertops and cabinets and dimensions for the deck and lighting and appliances.
The day we signed the contract, I told a friend that I was soooo excited about picking everything out.
And, I'm sure it would have been a load of fun if I had had more than about four days to do it all.
We didn't realize when we bought the house that it was at the point of needing
all those decisions made stat.
Well, let me tell you, this old girl is t.i.r.e.d.
Fortunately, there were only two days when I felt myself standing on the edge of the cliff.
After a few of the big decisions were made, it did actually become fun. :)
In the midst of all the decisions with the house,
we've had soccer games and art shows and airsoft wars and first swims of the season.
We decided that our family needed a day with no decisions and no running all over town.
We're off to Six Flags over Georgia to ride some roller coasters today!
I'll be back soon to show you pictures of the progress made on the house....
{thankful for}
293. days made just for having fun.
294. the disco music I hear coming from my boys' room.
295. kids that make their own beds.
296. a husband that brings pink tulips and starbursts to his daughter for her art show.
297. the season of spending afternoons by the pool with friends.
298. four bags of amazing hand-me-downs from older cousins.
299. only six more weeks of school.

Have a great day and can't wait to see your choices!! And yes, it's TIRING! :)

Love your family pictures. Sounds like you have been really busy. I have a friend that is moving out of state. They had to buy a new house and move all of their things in 30 days. It has been a whirlwind for them but so worth it in the end. Good luck......it will all be worth it.
ReplyDeletei can't imagine the stress/fun of choosing all the details of a new house. yikes! i'd be a mess too. hope you're having a fun day today.

Is this a cookie cutter home where you only choose the things the builder has to offer (which is cheap builder grade quality) then you will get all that stuff into your mortgage ONLY to turn around within a year and start buying at Home Depot all the things you reeeeally wanted to get in the first place? If so....phew! makes no sense!
ReplyDeleteI love roller coasters, have a great time.
ReplyDeleteWoe my goodness!! I missed your last post and didn't know that you had found a home-how exciting!! I had so much fun picking out all the details when we built our last house. We are still house hunting here . . . can't wait to find that place to call home. Yours is BEAUTIFUL!! Congrats, friend!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny that sometimes we have to remind ourselves to have fun with it? I automatically go into stress mode, and then I realize that something useful is finally coming out of all of those hours on Pinterest! Enjoy your break with the kids!
ReplyDeletehope you had fun! i'm sure it'll all turn out great. life has a way of moving doesn't it? never seems to slow down with the kids :) have a beautiful Easter!
