The perfect rug for our kitchen...thank you very much TjMaxx.

I won't lie, it's been a busy two weeks since we moved into our new house.
My sister in law and niece spent our first night with us.

A college student from Orlando came a few days later and spent one night with us on her way home.

Then, I had the amazing privilege of keeping one of my dear friend's three kids
while they went to Ethiopia to meet their fourth child, a precious son.
The day after they arrived, my husband left to teach at a youth camp all week in Florida.
{He was like, "Nine kids, huh?  Yeah...I think I've got a camp to teach at!"}
A few days later, a dear friend from Orlando arrived with her three boys in tow.
She and I had nine kids all week, and we not only survived, but we actually had a lot of fun!

Lets just say that my house got initiated and worn in.
I only twitched a few times as the kids ran their dirty hands down the stairwell
or propped their nasty feet on the walls!

Anywho, I'm fried with tiredness, but I did want to pop in and show you my new rug.
TjMaxx comes through for me time and time again!
I knew I wanted a calming neutral backdrop in our home, but I'd die without pops of color.
At the same time, it's always been so hard for me to commit to a color scheme.
I think I must have made some kind of vow to never commit again back in the nineties
when I over committed to blue, burgundy and green.

But, I saw this rug the other day, and I just knew it would be the perfect addition to the kitchen.
It's huge...I think it's a 5 X 7...and it looks really good next to my white cabinets and white subway tile.
I'm a little bit in love with it...makes me happy.

You know I loooove to tell you about a deal!
I scored this huge rug for 49 buckaroos....is that awesome or what?

{thankful for}

  12. Oh man all of my wedding gifts were blue, burgandy and green. I HATE those colors... I pray that they never come back because it took me years to slowly get rid of and replace everything that I got in those colors!!! This post made me laugh because I SO got it... I love that you did that too.
